Ryanair is leading the charge with advertised flights for September and October starting at £14.99 on routes like London to Castellon, Barcelona, and Valencia. Looking ahead, tickets for November and December are priced from £19.99. Similarly, easyJet has rolled out a significant sale, providing discounts on over 780,000 seats across various routes. Passengers can find fares such as Gatwick to Alicante, Bristol to Malaga, and Luton to Barcelona starting at £18.99, with some October flights to Palma as low as £15.99.
Further intensifying the competition, Wizz Air is expanding its operations in Spain by establishing new bases in Valencia and Madrid come November. This move is expected to heighten competition, especially with Ryanair, as Wizz Air introduces additional routes. Meanwhile, Spanish airlines are not lagging, with Vueling offering up to 20% off on 110,000 seats, featuring international fares from €16. Iberia has set domestic flight prices at €24 and selected European destinations from €29, while Air Europa celebrates its anniversary with fares starting at €25.
While these discounts are enticing, travelers should note that the lowest prices typically cover only a small under-seat bag. Additional costs can accrue for extras such as seat selection, cabin baggage, and checked luggage. Travel experts advise that the best deals can often be found by comparing airlines on flexible midweek dates, particularly in October, November, and January, when prices tend to be lower compared to peak holiday periods.
