Range Rover has unveiled its inaugural all-electric SUV, with the starting price set at £154,070 in the UK. Customers can now place their orders, and deliveries are slated to commence in 2027. This marks a significant milestone in Jaguar Land Rover’s transition towards electric mobility, as the new vehicle is set to be produced at the company’s Solihull facility.
Equipped with two electric motors, the luxury SUV delivers up to 550PS and 850Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 60mph in just 4.3 seconds. Under the WLTP testing cycle, it boasts a driving range of up to 372 miles. The vehicle features a robust 118.5kWh battery that supports 800-volt charging, enabling the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 22 minutes under optimal conditions.
While maintaining Range Rover’s distinctive luxury aesthetics and off-road prowess, the electric SUV incorporates an electric powertrain and enhanced aerodynamic elements. It is also capable of wading through water depths of up to 900mm, ensuring it retains its rugged capabilities alongside modern advancements.
The development and testing of the Range Rover Electric have spanned several years, reflecting the brand’s commitment to innovation and performance. The production process will receive support from Jaguar Land Rover’s Wolverhampton facility, where battery packs and electric drive units are manufactured, underscoring the company’s integrated approach to electric vehicle production.
