Vietnam and France have pledged to enhance their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, focusing on stronger cooperation in several key sectors. During recent discussions held in Hanoi, both nations highlighted the progress achieved in their bilateral relations and committed to expediting their partnership action plan. This includes closer collaboration in diplomacy, trade, defense, energy, technology, and infrastructure.
Vietnam emphasized the importance of working together more closely in areas such as defense, cybersecurity, nuclear energy, and science and technology. The country also urged France to hasten the ratification of the EU–Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and to support efforts to lift the European Union’s “yellow card” on Vietnamese seafood exports. Additionally, Vietnam is keen on collaborating with France on critical minerals and significant infrastructure projects.
France, viewing Vietnam as a pivotal strategic partner in the Asia-Pacific region, expressed its desire to broaden cooperation in various fields including nuclear energy, rare earths, satellite technology, and transportation infrastructure. France also aims to expand ties in healthcare and cultural exchanges, indicating a multifaceted approach to strengthening bilateral relations.
Both nations have committed to enhancing coordination on regional and global matters, demonstrating their shared dedication to multilateralism, dialogue, and sustainable development. By solidifying their partnership, Vietnam and France aim to tackle pressing global challenges together and foster a more robust relationship that benefits both countries.
